Entertainment is all I was born to do — Blessing Adewole


Blessing Ohiku Adewole is a budding Nollywood actress who doubles as a tutor of French language and master of ceremonies. She told ROTIMI IGE why she is passionate about entertainment, among other things.

About myself

I am popularly known as Miss Big, Bold and Beautiful. I was born in Cote d’ivoire in 1983, but grew up and schooled in Kaduna in Barnawa. I worked for a while in banking after which I relocated to Ibadan with my family and became a tutor of French launguage in various schools on part time till date.

 

How I got into entertainment

My interest in entertainment began since I was in primary school. I grew up in a social environment, so there was a strong passion in me that loved entertainment. I remember entering many competitions back then. I stated doing stage plays and  comedy shows with Kingsley, popularly known today as Funny Bone in school. Entertainment makes me happy and fulfilled.

 

Entertainment influences

I got influenced by many stars particularly in Nollywood;  Hilda Dokubor, Kuti Jaiye, the late Mrs Rachel Oniga, Patience Ozorkwo etc.

 

What other projects are you into?

I am into acting, presenting on some online radio stations particularly in broken English, I anchor programmes, birthdays, weddings and lots more. I am also a DJ, having learnt that from my husband who is also an entertainer. I love dancing and also sell organic beauty products and a tutor in French. All these make me happy and I am fulfilled doing what I love  best.

 

Movies you have been involved in…

I did some movies particularly with Iroko’s ROKtv. I featured in a movies like ‘Oblele’, ‘Eccentric’, some series with Oreofe Williams, ‘Cry’. I was the make up artist in exclusive love with Tunji Damola by twist of faith.

 

Challenges

There have been so many sleepless nights, sometimes I go to location with my children which wasn’t easy but I wanted them to also have the experience .
